Fundraising Ideas
This page will help inspire and guide you when fundraising for
Yorkshire Cancer Centre.
Keep checking the activity wall above to give you some ideas on how you could raise money for YCC.
Refresh the above list > or > Request the fundraisers handbook.
Firstly we would like to thank all the hard working people who have managed to raise and are continuing to raise money for our appeal through fundraising activities. Your support is appreciated.
We will encourage and support anyone who contacts us with ideas for fundraising activities and we ask that people take the time to read the "Guide to how we work" check points on this page.

Guide to how we work:
- Before you start to fundraise, please read through the YCC Fundraising Checklist for an insight into the rules & regulations - Download the checklist
- We have our own in-house design team that can handle requests for posters, leaflets, marketing literature etc, but if printing is required as well as design, please make sure you get in touch with us and fill out a "Work Request Form" at least 28 days before the date the literature is needed.
You can obtain a "Work Request Form" from us once you have sent in your completed "Agreement Form" which you can download here. Download an Agreement Form.
Make sure you fill all your details in on the form or we will be unable to contact you to follow up the request.
- We require anyone who approaches us with a request to use our logo for fundraising activities to provide us with written correspondance at least 5 days before the event detailing exactly what the logo will be used for, when it is needed and what you expect to raise / achieve for Yorkshire Cancer Centre. To be able to get hold of a "Logo Request Form", please complete an "Agreement Form" first and send to -
YCC Fundraising Team, Yorkshire Cancer Centre, Level 7, Bexley Wing, St James's Institute of Oncology, Beckett Street, Leeds, LS9 7TF. If you prefer to email a request to us, email - info@yorkshirecancercentre.org.uk.
- We always encourage individuals who are raising money for Yorkshire Cancer Centre to approach their local press office with exciting event stories. To help fundraisiers with creating stories for press, here are some points to consider;
1.) Write the words ‘press release’ at the top. Include the date, a powerful headline, and a short amount of text that describes what you are doing.
2.) Your first paragraph should be a single sentence which will encourage people to read on. The second should explain more, and the third should cover all the remaining essential details.
To summerise - these are things the journalists will want to know;
Who – is this story about?
What – are they doing (that makes this interesting/unusual)?
Why – are they doing it (and why should we print it)?
Where – is it happening?
When – is it happening?
How – are they going to do it?
PLEASE NOTE: When writing about or producing advertising/ publicity on behalf of Yorkshire Cancer Centre, we ask everyone to be professional in their approach, and if the charity logo is needed, please contact us for the official logo and usage policy.
